Brexit Memo

Monday 16 March, 2020

As we are all aware, the current political process around the UK’s exit from the European Union has been lengthy and confusing at times.

Exclusive Group has & continues to keep a close watch on developments and the topic of Brexit has continued to be a frequent item on the agenda of the Company Shareholders & Executive Board over the last 2 years. We are spending time & effort in putting together plans to manage risks and mitigate for the effects of different outcomes wherever possible.

We must start by emphasising that to date and on the whole it is “business as usual” & there has been no immediate change identified to our business or way of working.

Many members of management team have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the company is prepared for different scenarios. From providing advice to our staff who are required to apply for the settlement scheme, reviewing our procurement and supply chains, to addressing possible IT and business continuity implications.

Here are some of the areas in which are key to our future proof plans and which will be implemented over the coming months.

•Settlement Schemes - EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you and your family can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families/applying-for-settled-status

•Workforce Plans – It has been predicted that future changes to the entry level of EU workers to the country will diminish with the requirement of skills & qualification levels being a lot higher than those of entry level jobs. This may potentially ultimately lead to resource shortages and we will continue to work with industry associations and where possible Government to monitor the effect on our market.

•Our Supply Chain - We are working closely with our client to ensure we understand the potential demands they may face as a result and how we can accommodate these changes. Our suppliers continue to keep us informed of any change to the availability and costs of materials, stocks and equipment in which to prepare ahead of this demand.

Our staff, clients and customers are the heart of our community and our organisation. As such and as a valued colleague, we want to ensure you are properly supported.

Until we have further clarity on Brexit, we will be sending out regular e-mails with practical information that we sincerely hope & trust will help our colleague & community prepare.
